QI GONG FOUNDATIONS
This class is focused on energy cultivation, stance and healing postures. It is for all levels. All masters know that the greatest skills are found in the foundational practice. Any structure built on a poor foundation will ultimately fall.
The practice of Qi Gong is one of the oldest forms of movement medicine on the planet. This system of mind/body practice is based on a deep understanding of human body mechanics, the elemental forces of nature and the ancient truths about manifesting a healthy life – also known as The Longevity Secrets. The practice is comprised of postures in the same way that yoga is a series of asanas and, like yoga, the movements in Qi Gong are designed to awaken the body’s energetic pathways, release physical and mental tension, and reintegrate us into the present moment. Qi Gong uses the breath to calm the mind, regulate the nervous system and move your consciousness through every part of your body. These practices work on strengthening the legs and core.
Thomas Droge has been practicing Qi Gong, Tai Ji and Meditation for the past 25 years. He is a doctor of Chinese medicine and a seeker of truth. Thomas has studied around the world and with many great masters and has never stopped seeking the Tao.
Thomas holds a Masters degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine, has completed Harvard’s Mind Body Medicine program and teaches in many of the ancient lineages of Taoist wisdom traditions including, Zhao Bao, Er Mei, and Dragon Gate.
